A Valentine’s Dinner for a “Toasty” Night In
“For your Valentine’s Day celebration this year, why not indulge in a romantic night in with Tribeca Oven? Instead of table bread, we’ve re-imagined the way bread gets used for your meal as an appetizer, main course, and even dessert!” – Charles Massion, C.H. Guenther & Son’s Pastry Research & Development Scientist
Traditional Valentine’s Day celebrations may look a little different this year, as devout restaurant patrons forfeit their annual dinner reservations for a socially-distanced night-in. However, just because dine-in restrictions are currently in place, couples should not have to forego their highly-anticipated Valentine’s Day dinner. To craft a simple, yet romantic, three-course dinner, we worked with Charles to develop a menu for you to consider for this year’s festivities. All of the dishes are meant to be shared by two, and yes, there will be bread!
Appetizer: Smoked Salmon Dip
RECIPE DETAILS
For a savory start to your evening, trying pairing a Smoked Salmon Dip with slices of our Ciabatta Baguette. The combination of smoked salmon, cream cheese, and lemon provides the perfect flavor balance for a savory appetizer. Toast the Ciabatta slices for added flavor. Because this is a low-prep recipe, you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying your partner’s company.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
We chose a Ciabatta Baguette because Ciabatta Bread is classic Italian bread that has a crisp crust and soft, light interior. When sliced, the Ciabatta Baguette is perfect pairing with spreads, dips, and oils as an appetizer or making crostinis. Therefore, if smoked salmon is not your and your significant other’s preference, you can easily pair this product with your preferred spread of choice for a delicious start to your special meal.
Main Course: Goat Cheese Salad
RECIPE DETAILS
Enjoy a flavorful, yet light, main course with a Goat Cheese Salad. The inclusions of cucumber, tomato, and carrots, create a lively, flavorful salad that is sure to impress your partner. Slice our French Baguette to add a delicious crunch to the salad. We recommend pairing with a red wine vinaigrette which complements the goat cheese nicely.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Not only do French Baguettes work well for appetizers and charcuterie boards, they can be a quick way to add texture to a salad or create a panzanella. Because stale bread is the key component to making a traditional panzanella, it’s a great way to re-purpose older loaves that would otherwise to go waste. If there is still some French Baguette left over from your goat cheese salad, try making a panzanella later on in the week.
DESSERT: Raspberry Profiteroles
RECIPE DETAILS
Profiteroles are a French cream puff pastry that is typically filled with a whipped cream, custard, or ice cream. For our take on this classic French dessert, we suggest filling our Slider Rolls with a raspberry sorbet. To enhance the flavor of this dessert even more, drizzle some dark chocolate sauce on the finished product and garnish with raspberries. How romantic!
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Most people would not think to use our Slider Rolls for a dessert, but their versatile flavor lend themselves to both sweet and savory applications. For other ideas on how to use bread as dessert, please visit the Recipes section of our website—you’ll love our take on Bread Pudding.
With the low-prep ease and the high quality of bread in our Valentine’s Day dinner, you certainly won’t miss standing in line to wait for a table, noisy restaurant chatter, and the hefty bill at the end of the night. Instead, enjoy a leisurely, socially-distanced date night with Tribeca Oven. We hope you enjoy your Valentine’s Day celebration and hope that you are able to enjoy our bread at your favorite restaurant next year.
