On Trend Butter & Cream Cheese Board Ideas

Butter Boards: they’re everywhere! Like so many social media trends, this one seems to have come out of nowhere, rocketing to foodie stardom on TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest. We wanted to get in on the fun, so we’ve put together four boards, two with butter and two with cream cheese, along with your choice of sweet and savory options. Big thanks to Kali Grable, Research Scientist, for developing these recipes for us!

As with cheese and charcuterie boards, bread is essential to cream cheese and butter boards. We’ve included Tribeca Oven bread pairing suggestions, along with beverage pairings. Try one at your next happy hour or dinner party for a shareable nosh.


On a medium-sized cutting board, spread the butter or cream cheese using an offset spatula or butter knife. Try to achieve an even layer with some texture, using the knife to create small waves across the surface. Then, sprinkle on the toppings, to taste. Arrange the bread around the edges and serve.


Allow the butter and cream cheese to come to room temperature for easy spreadability.

Rustic Pesto Butter Board


Salted butter, softened ⦁ Minced garlic (tip: squeeze a few drops of lemon juice on the garlic to tame the sharpness) ⦁ Lemon zest ⦁ Pine nuts, toasted ⦁ Kalamata olives, chopped ⦁ Parmesan cheese, shaved ⦁ Basil leaves, roughly chopped or torn ⦁ Prepared pesto, drizzled

Artichoke & Crab Dip CREAM CHEESE Board

Everyone loves a party dip! This cream cheese board remixes the classic artichoke dip and serves it up on an attractive platter.


Cream cheese, softened ⦁ Sea salt flakes ⦁ Canned/jarred artichoke hearts, drained and roughly chopped ⦁ Lump crab, roughly chopped ⦁ Non-pareil capers, whole ⦁ Parsley, finely chopped ⦁ Cracked black pepper ⦁ Red chili flakes (optional) 

Recommended Bread: Tribeca Oven French Baguette or Ciabatta Everything Loaf.

Drink Pairing: Light-bodied beer, like Pilsner or Kolsch.


Sweet Potato Pie Board

This board makes an easy and elegant dessert, perfect for entertaining or holiday meals.


Cream cheese, softened ⦁ Graham crackers, lightly crushed (can be done by placing whole crackers in a baggie and lightly crushing with your hands) ⦁ Brown sugar-glazed sweet potatoes,
diced (toss a peeled and diced sweet potato in brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice, and roast in a 425°F oven until softened, about 15-20 minutes) ⦁ Pumpkin seeds, salted and roasted ⦁ Powdered sugar, for dusting

Sweet Potato Cream Cheese Board

Figgy Pear Butter board

The rustic flavors of autumn fruit come together on this gourmet board. For an extra-decadent presentation, warm the honey slightly before drizzling.


Salted butter, softened ⦁ Red-wine poached pear (peel and quarter a pear and poach in a sweet mulled red wine) ⦁ Fresh figs, thinly sliced rounds cut in half ⦁ Walnuts, chopped ⦁ Fresh rosemary, finely chopped ⦁ Honey, drizzled
