Preheat oven to 375°F.
Slice French baguette in half lengthwise and cut each in half (you should have 4 portions).
In a sauté pan over medium heat, add extra virgin olive oil. Sauté kale lightly, season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Turn off heat and set aside.
Divide and spread pesto evenly over all four pieces bread.
Spread about a third of the cheese on top of the pesto on all four pieces of bread.
Divide and spread kale over the cheese for all.
Pile the rest of the cheese over the kale for all.
Bake for 4 minutes. Carefully sprinkle red pepper on top and bake for an additional 3 – 4 minutes.
Remove from oven, allow to cool for 1 – 2 minutes.
